March 26th 2008 - California Wildflowers I just arrived home from a trip up the central coast of California, visiting a factory in the Silicon Valley, and I'm glad I took my Nikon D200 with me. I knew the coastal scenery would be beautiful, but the fields and hillsides covered with wildflowers was an unexpected surprise. I pulled over to the side of the road several times to capture a few images.

The coastline was rugged and beautiful

A birds eye view of the coast must be incredibly spectacular

Some of the beaches were covered with Elephant Seals

The coastal hills had patches of native California poppies

And the inland hills were covered with wildflowers

Some looked like huge nuggets of gold

I stopped several times to take pictures


Spring time in California sure is spectacular

The variety of flowers and colors was amazing

It was hard deciding which flowers to focus on

I was enjoying myself with camera in hand

Oak trees were beginning to bud


A free spirit enjoys a fine day

Baby Blue Eyes reflected the color of the sky

The birds were singing and the air smelled sweet

I Just couldn't resist a little Photoshop treatment

The Coastal Tidy Tips were blooming

The California poppies were almost in full bloom
