April 18th 2008 - More California Wildflowers

I drove about 45 miles north of Los Angeles to spend an afternoon taking pictures of native California wildflowers. It was an enjoyable day.

I parked by a small pond and was happy to see clouds in the sky

The clouds helped make the colors bright without too much contrast

Amazingly, all of the clouds quickly vanished

I kept hiking upwards while taking pictures

It really was a beautiful day

And there were wildflowers everywhere

The lack of clouds made the lighting very harsh, but I kept shooting

It didn't take long before the winds picked up

A rather boring looking flower, until seen up close
