Realistic Fly Tying Tutorial - Adult Caddisfly

I love to fish orange October Caddisflies on the East Walker River in late summer

line

Tye abdomen onto hook

A thin strip of white foam was colored orange, wrapped up the hook, while fine dubbing was being sprinkled

tye on some legs

Hand broom bristles are inserted through porcupine quills, to create the legs

tying more legs

Additional legs and foam are tyed on

Beads for eyes, or a drop of black paint

Eyes are fine hollow glass beads with mono-fishing line, melted at both ends

Wings are tyed onto the Caddis

Realistic wings are tyed in place, as well as a pair of antenna

Bend the legs

Legs are bent using a heated needle or bodkin tip
